Lenawee Now, Coordinator of the Adrian/Tecumseh SmartZone, welcomes Gary Clemetson to the team.
ADRIAN July 19, 2016 – Lenawee Now and the Adrian/Tecumseh SmartZone are pleased to welcome Gary Clemetson as our new Manager of Business Acceleration. Mr. Clemetson’s experience in business and economic development combined with his entrepreneurial spirit will serve him well in this MEDC grant funded position.
Mr. Clemetson will work with tech/innovation start-ups, entrepreneurial support organizations, educational professionals, college leaders, and other community partners to support innovation-based business development. “We are very excited to bring Gary on board,” says Mayor of Tecumseh and Chairman of the Adrian/Tecumseh SmartZone, Jack Baker, “His outstanding experience in startup ventures and economic development qualify him for this position and we are confident in his ability to expand business in our area.”
As Senior Manager of Product Management at Kaiser Permanente, Mr. Clemetson was charged with monitoring upcoming technology innovations as well as competitive market research. He has also spent time working for the British Government as a business development advisor to help companies in the United States increase their presence in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Clemetson earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Wolverhampton, UK and an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business. “I am excited to help grow the technology based business cluster in Lenawee County,” he explains, “I have strategic, growth-focused ideas and am ready to hit the ground running!”
