Lenawee Now’s mission is to drive economic opportunity in our community and we enthusiastically approach this challenge from a variety of avenues to ensure our economy is robust, well-rounded, and stable.
One of the ways we pursue economic growth is by bringing new businesses to Lenawee County, but these organizations need to know that if they invest in our community, qualified talent will continue to fill jobs in the future. This is one of the reasons the local talent pipeline is integral to economic development and our mission at Lenawee Now.
Though recruiting processes are the responsibility of an organization’s human resources department, it is our responsibility as a community to develop qualified and motivated individuals that will continue our economic legacy for generations to come. This is why we’re championing programs such as Teacher/Counselor Externships, collaborative events, and certificate programs, all of which help instill the soft and hard skills employers need today into the workforce of tomorrow.
The Align Lenawee Talent Consortium is a talent-focused initiative created by Lenawee Now to inspire elementary and middle school students to explore manufacturing and other professional trades. By exposing young students to local career opportunities, we are able to create a foundation of skills and interests that build as children learn and explore different pathways throughout middle and high school. Once they graduate, they are able to enter the workforce with the skills, foundational knowledge, and passion to begin a great career in a Lenawee County industry.
We need to develop the local talent pipeline so Lenawee County can continue to be an outstanding business community not only in Michigan, but to the country and the rest of the world. Lenawee County is an incredible community of hardworking and dedicated businessmen and women. Together, we can ensure a future of economic success.
