Adrian, MI – December 2, 2022

Lenawee Now received recognition from the Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC) awards program that were presented at its Annual Competitiveness Conference, held November 30-December 2 in Chicago.

Recognition was presented to Lenawee Now in the Workforce & Talent category, for our Align Talent Consortium’s Industry Collaboratives.  Lenawee Now, in partnership with the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) and Michigan Works Southeast (MWSE), has demonstrated considerable success implementing the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) methodology with groups of employers who share common pain points.  These initiatives are being funded in part by a Michigan Industry Cluster Approach grant from the State of Michigan.  Current TPM projects include the Chemical Industry Collaborative and the Automotive Dealership Collaborative.  Given this success, we plan to expand the approach in several additional industry sectors, including but not limited to the hospitality sector, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare.

The award was given as an activity and/or innovative program that attracts new talent to your area, strengthens the skills of your existing workforce and/or encourages retention of young/new talent in your area.  “Talent retention and attraction is the most crucial economic development challenge we face in Lenawee County and our Industry Collaboratives program is just one of the ways we are addressing this issue. National recognition such as this award highlights that we moving in the right direction.” Tim Robinson, Interim Executive Director
