Adrian, MI – Recently, fifty students from Adrian Public Schools represented Lenawee County in the annual Math Olympics held at Saginaw Valley State University. The event featured two levels of competition: Level I which included general math through and including Algebra 2, and Level II which included Precalculus and International Baccalaureate Mathematics. The team was coached by Jason Lucius and Elaine Kaiser, who dedicated themselves to guiding and mentoring the students throughout their preparation for the competition. Their guidance and support were instrumental in the team’s success, and the APS community is grateful for their hard work and commitment to the students.
APS was the only school in Lenawee County to participate in the in-person competition since the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, APS students displayed their commitment and enthusiasm, achieving impressive results in both team and individual categories.
Adrian High School Level I, Level II, and Combined Level I and II teams received honorable mention for being in the top 10% of teams that participated in the 2023 SVSU Math Olympics. Lauren Fraser, Connor Pino, Sean Parker, Prim Panyathanya, Alice Raimondi, Zachary Rasnick, Hector Simon, Jeydin Belvins, Brandon Smith, and Leif Knox received honorable mentions in Level II individuals for scoring in the top 10% of all Level II competitors.
