Magnificent performances, rich history, and beautiful architecture characterize the Croswell Opera House, attracting fans nationwide. The Croswell has done an excellent job fundraising over the last year in preparation for its big renovation, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a $2.5 million dollar donation earlier this month. Julianne Argyros, longtime supporter of the Croswell, has made the largest single donation the theater has ever received, surpassing campaign goals.
Adrian’s master craftsman honored by magazine
Luke Barnett’s reputation for creating top-notch wood furniture continues to grow. The Adrian man recently was named the “Top Windsor Furniture Craftsman” by Early American Life Magazine. “This award makes me feel proud,” he said. “Proud of not only myself, but also proud for my community. It is amazing that artists from our community are receiving recognition on a national stage. We have so many artists that are doing work on a world class level. Amy Philps, Mike Thompson, Chameleon Studios and Kris Cravens, just to name a few. It’s almost as if Adrian is in the midst of a Renaissance.” He was honored for a birdcage rocker-style Windsor chair.
County National Bank Open for Business in Adrian
On Tuesday (July 5), County National Bank opened its new office at 1380 S. Main St. in Adrian. “We are very excited to open our new Adrian office,” Craig Connor, president and CEO of County National Bank, said in a news release, “and think our community bank can make a positive difference promoting and expanding local commerce. The new office provides a special setting to offer banking services to Adrian and greater Lenawee County.” After serving Lenawee County for 25 years from its Hudson office, the bank announced in November 2015 it would be expanding into Adrian. The office is fully renovated and the grand opening celebration is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 20.
