Lenawee Now in partnership with the LISD is convening a powerful process that will assure our chemical industry a voice in their talent and skills solutions. The process is facilitated by Jack Townsley, the Supervisor of Placement Services and Adult Learning Services.

Anderson Development Company, Wacker Chemical Company, W2 Fuels L.L.C., PPG Industries L.L.C., Uckele Health and Nutrition, and Silbond Evonik are working together to solve short and long term training and development challenges. The industry pays high wages, and has great benefits, but understands that our current students and others who are seeking employment may not understand the opportunities for rewarding  local careers.

Lenawee Now received a grant from the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity (LEO)  because of our local need to build talent and place residents in good jobs. Michigan Works! Southeast (MWSE) is another vital partner in this work, providing funding and expertise to the group for their initial training needs.
