Lenawee County is home to three thriving colleges: Adrian College, Siena Heights University, and Jackson College (JC @ LISD TECH). The presence of these colleges not only drives local business, but also adds to the quality of life to our region.
Adrian College
Founded in 1859, Adrian College is a private, co-educational college of liberal arts and sciences related to the Methodist Church. The college offers over 40 majors and pre professional programs and is home to 32 athletic teams. Recently, Adrian College has been recognized and awarded by MONEY Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, and Victor Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. Lenawee Now has partnered with Adrian College on many efforts, such as the Lenawee Now internship program and the Adrian Innovation Center; an entrepreneur incubator.
Siena Heights University
Siena Heights University is a Catholic University founded by the Adrian Dominican Sisters in 1919. Although based in Lenawee County, Siena Heights has seven locations in Michigan and offers an award-winning online program. The university offers more than 50 majors and has been nationally recognized for programs like creative writing. Siena Heights also offers 21 athletic programs and their student-athletes boast a cumulative GPA of 3.15. The university has also received recent honors for their online excellence by U.S. News & World Report and has been valued in the top 25 most affordable Roman Catholic Colleges with high starting salaries for graduates. Lenawee Now has partnered with Siena Heights University several times, most recently on the Community Career Expo, Operation: SERVE.
Jackson College
Jackson College was founded as Jackson Junior College in 1928. Today, Jackson College has four locations; main campus in Jackson, JC @LISD TECH in Adrian, the Clyde E. LeTarte Center in Hillsdale, and North Campus in Jackson. JC @ LISD TECH features 27,000-square-feet of the latest technology, classroom spaces, and state-of-the-art science wing, bookstore, and bistro. One of the offerings of JC @ LISD TECH is the accelerated Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. The program offers the same courses as a traditional Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, but in a shorter, more compressed time frame.
