Mark your calendars for the 20th Annual Appleumpkin Festival in Tecumseh, Saturday, October 12 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 13 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Make plans to come to downtown Tecumseh and enjoy all the fun activities, food, vendors, live entertainment, Make-It Take-It kids activities, a haunted house, and so much more!
This year’s Appleumpkin Festival will feature family, fun-filled activities downtown for the whole family. The kids are sure to enjoy the carnival games and Midway rides, as well as the free children’s activities. The Make-It-Take-It Tent lets you and your children make free scarecrows and the kids can make free crafts. It’s great fun for everyone! Explore the arts by enjoying the Arts and Crafts Show featuring handcrafted works from artisans from Michigan, Ohio, and beyond. Be sure to browse the Antiques Street Fair and Flea Market as well. Food is an essential part of any event and the Appleumpkin Festival brings some of your favorite food to town. Enjoy corn dogs, funnel cakes, hand cut fries, fajitas, pizza, caramel apples, and fresh squeezed lemonade. Throughout the weekend, the festival will feature live bands and great music at the Appleumpkin Stage on North Pearl Street.
Merchants and restaurants offering great food and shopping, friendly Downtown merchants will be open throughout the festival weekend.
For your convenience, there will be a free parking at Tecumseh High School with free shuttle bus service from THS to Downtown and from Downtown to Kapnick Orchard’s Apple Festival. The Shuttle stop is located at the corner of South Pearl St and Chicago Blvd.
On Saturday there will be an Antique Tractor Show from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Shopko Parking lot on the west end of town.
Tecumseh District Library will once again host the Friends of the Library Used Book Sale on Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Sunday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at 215 N. Ottawa St.
A Haunted House will be located at the Tecumseh Public School Board Office 3rd floor – 212 North Ottawa at the corner of N. Ottawa and Shawnee Street. Hours are Saturday Noon – 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 3 p.m. It promises to be spooky fun for all ages. All proceeds benefit Tecumseh Middle School’s Builders Club and Tecumseh High School’s National Honor Society. Cost: $3.00 -18 and under $1.00-Adult/Chaperone.
The First Presbyterian Church located at 211 W. Chicago Blvd., invites you to enjoy free Make-It-Take-It Kids activities, free snacks and beverages on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Annual Roast Beef Dinner will take place on Sunday. Serving times will be 11:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Menu: Roast beef – slow cooked, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, corn, cole slaw, dinner roll, assorted cakes and pies, coffee or milk. Located at 506 N. Union St. Price: Adult $9 – Children 6 to 12 years $5 – Under 6 Free.
