Lenawee County has been recommended for $300,000 in funding for the Kiwanis Trail Expansion and Improvement Project. This is part of a larger initiative by the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) to devote $40.3 million towards land acquisition projects and outdoor recreation improvements around the state. Of the 166 total applications for funding, Lenawee County was among the highest recommended.

The Kiwanis Trail Expansion and Improvement Project will connect Adrian and Tecumseh with a 10 mile paved trail to share and enjoy. This aligns perfectly to the Non-Motorized Trails Vision of the 2015 Connecting Lenawee Plan. A variety of trail users including walkers, runners, bicyclists, in-line skaters, skateboarders, and snow-shoe and cross-country skiers are encouraged to utilize the new development upon completion.

This recommendation made by the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board will be sent to State Legislature for approval then to Governor Snyder for a final signature. Visit the Lenawee County Facebook page for updates!
