Position Summary
Establish and maintain liaison contact with students, local school administrators, counselors, teachers, families, MWSE Counterpart, and local business/industry for the purpose of establishing and providing linkages among the components of K-16 (K-12 plus higher education) and beyond through career preparation and placement, and to provide information to all Lenawee County students and business/industry partners in support of career goals and job placement. Provide administrative assistance as listed below. This position would be 36-40 hours per week.
Education
Required:
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent
• Demonstrated writing, organization, communication, and leadership skills
• Knowledge of the career planning process, career development and work-based learning
• Experience in project management or coordination activities

Essential Job Functions
(Including the following and other duties may be assigned)
• Facilitate and assist local districts with student understanding and enhancement of needed skills that lead to success in business/industry
• Assist students with the development/creation/review of educational development plans and talent portfolios
• Assist local districts with the development and implementation of plans that will build relationships with business/industry
• With assistance from the Consultant to the Align Talent System, assist business/industry to develop and implement plans that will build relationships with local districts
• Identify program and pathway strengths and/or areas for improvement
• Facilitate and assist local districts along with business/industry with the development, roles, responsibilities, and implementation of career awareness and career exploration opportunities for students
• Identify and develop student wrap around teams from the local district and business/industry that will assure optimum opportunities for success
• Serve on appropriate committees to provide advice/insight
• Work side by side with Lenawee ISD TECH Center staff assigned to career preparation and development to provide technical assistance for Career Prep/WBL (Work Based Learning) and/or career related activities as needed
• Assess and develop opportunities for students to attain stackable state or national industry-recognized certifications and credentials.
• Assist Lenawee Now and Align staff to help configure certification programs and related information on the www.alignlenawee.org website and eventually their Learning Management System (LMS)
• Work directly with K-12 systems to increase communication to students, teachers, counselors, employers and Lenawee Now partners about Align Lenawee, certifications, apprenticeships, events and other critical components of a viable talent system.
• Work directly with Lenawee Now navigators and champions to increase access and success rates of implementation of certifications being offered through Align Talent System and generate positivity and acceptance among in-classroom use of middle school and high school certificate programs. This includes marketing the certifications, social media content, sticker development, course packaging and more.
• Work with Manager of Align to further CTE experiences, job shadowing, work-based learning opportunities, apprenticeships and more as we bridge communication among the schools, students, teachers, counselor, and employers on local job and career opportunities.
Facilitate regular meetings with local districts, Lenawee
ISD TECH Center, and business/industry to assess needs,
develop plans and carry out impactful action plans
• Develop and provide information to introduce students,families, business/industry regarding process, outcomes and needs
• Assure buy in from all needed parties to arrive at a successful outcome for both the student as well as business/industry partners
• Administrative duties related to scheduling meetings, developing agenda, writing meeting minutes, arranging for refreshments as needed, etc.
• Develop electronic folders and file organization on shared drive.
• Maintain records and updates in SalesForce.
• Collect, input, organize and analyze data for reports.
• Schedule, organize, and provide material/information for tours of as well as other opportunities to introduce students and families to local business/industry
• Coordinate a sustainable plan that leads to focused,data-driven/measurable results which demonstrate evidence of impact to all stakeholders regarding the need of a career navigator position
• Collaborate with the Lenawee ISD, Lenawee Now, local districts and business/industry to develop public
relations, publications, presentations, and information regarding needs and opportunities
• General office administration duties
• Schedule ZOOM as well as in-person meetings for staff members at Lenawee Now requesting it.
• Work with outside Marketing firm on matters involving promotion of programs.
• Advises Manager of Align on innovative and effective programs, processes, and procedures that may deepen the impact of Lenawee Now K-12 programs focusing on CTE skill development.
• Work directly, through school counselors, with undecided students to communicate Align Lenawee opportunities about personal elevator pitches, resume building, interviewing skills and promote personal connections with local employers.
• Help build a database for local emplyers willing to hire high school students, those that offer tuition reimbursement, and other opportunities attractive to students
