FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Adrian, MI – October 1, 2020

Lenawee Now has received a grant from Consumers Energy Foundation to support our training of small businesses working through recovery from losses during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Consumers Energy Foundation is the charitable arm of Consumers Energy, Michigan’s largest energy provider. The Foundation enables communities to thrive and grow by investing in what is most important to Michigan – its people, our planet, and Michigan’s prosperity.

The Foundation’s support emphasizes the challenges of women and minority-owned businesses caused by the pandemic. Our goals are to provide training to build online sales and enhance accounting procedures for these companies. Competing online is essential to recovering sales and enhancing accounting procedures will help secure future financial success.

Lenawee Now is very dedicated to providing assistance to our county businesses including vetting applications for the State of Michigan Recovery and Restart funds. We maintain updated information on our website (www.LenaweeNow.org) to connect our businesses to recovery resources. We continue to seek financial support to assist our companies in their recovery.

Consumers Energy and its employees and retirees contributed more than $11.5 million to Michigan nonprofits.
