For the fifth year, Lenawee Now has been awarded for their marketing and program efforts to enhance Lenawee County economic development.
Recently, Executive Director, Jim Van Doren, and Director of Operations, Tim Robinson received two awards at the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) including a Silver Excellence awarded for ALIGN, a project in the category of Human Capital, and a Bronze Excellence awarded for their Partnership to Promote the Impact of Economic Development in Lenawee County, a project in the category of Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Single Event.
“Being recognized on an international level for the work that we are doing locally is invaluable to our community. It brings positive attention to Lenawee and helps us stand out among others,” shares Van Doren.
Lenawee Now has been promoting Lenawee County’s economic development initiatives on a world class level since 2011. In collaboration with the brand and marketing agency Hoyden Creative, the economic development programs, marketing initiatives, and marketing campaigns have succeeded in winning a series of awards at both the state, national, and international level.
“We are so pleased to partner with Lenawee Now to bring more attention to our area through strategic marketing and communication,” says Sarah Stanley, CEO and founder of Hoyden Creative.
Judges for organizations such as the IEDC, Michigan Economic Development Association (MEDA), and Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC) review extraordinary projects that advance both communities and businesses. Other recipients from the annual IEDC conferences include Ann Arbor SPARK, Enterprise Florida, Hong Kong, and The World Trade Center Los Angeles.
“Winning these awards establishes Lenawee Now as a serious player in the economic development arena,” says Robinson. “Despite the size of our population and budget compared to our competitors, this keeps us at a level playing field with these national and international organizations.”
