LISD Superintendent, Jim Philp, and LISD Board President, Howard Keller, accepted the Free Press Green Leader Award yesterday (Keller and Philp in back row of photo on left side) at the Detroit Economic Club luncheon. The LISD Center for a Sustainable Future Campus on Tipton Hwy was named the Green Building Practices Winner. Between 2003 and 2013, the district planned and built a 8,700-square-foot, energy-efficient building that included two classrooms, a science lab, greenhouse and a community meeting space.
