Madison Schools
The Michigan Department of Education has announced that both Madison Elementary School and Madison Middle School are being recognized as “Beating the Odds” Reward Schools.
Beating the Odds recognizes Michigan schools whose student achievement exceeds the expectations, or predictions, as based upon identifiable risk factors typically associated with low student achievement, such as economic status or race and ethnicity. Only 8% of Michigan’s schools received this honor for 2013-14.
The Mackinaw Center recently released report card for Michigan elementary, middle, and high schools, which takes into account the socioeconomic status of students when judging schools’ academic performance. Madison Middle School received a grade of A and ranked in the top 96% of Michigan schools. Madison Elementary and Madison High also scored well with an overall grade of B and rank in the top 85%, placing both buildings at the top of the Lenawee County results.

Madison School District is located in Madison Township in Adrian, Michigan. The District serves 1575 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Other significant recent achievements include the June 2013 district-wide accreditation by AdvancED, the most recognized and prestigious school accreditation organization in the world and US News & World Reports’ recognition of Madison High School as a 2013 Silver Award winner as one of Michigan’s top high schools. Madison Middle School is recognized as a 2012-13 National Title I Distinguished School, and Madison Elementary and Madison Middle schools are designated as Reward Schools by the Michigan Department of Education.
