Hello, crowdfunders!
This is going to be a good week. On Wednesday, we welcome Localstake to Pure Michigan Crowdfunding. Our partners at Reconsider are hosting a welcome bash at Spark East in Ypsilanti for this great group of crowdfunding experts from Indy. If you’ve not seen what they can do, be sure to visit their terrific website.
Thursday looks to be the next significant step in the legislature, when the bill is slated for a hearing in front of the Senate Banking Committee. We expect good things there as they have indicated they don’t need lots of testimony and they have also indicated they will likely vote on whether to send the bill right to the floor at the first hearing…both great indicators. Thanks again and always to Rep Nancy Jenkins who sponsored the bill and continues to push hard for its passage, and to Andy Buss from Nancy’s office who did most of the work putting the bill together.
Finally, on Friday the Amazing Team of University of Michigan Ford School students who’ve been working on this project with my office since September will be presenting their final report. It will include a couple of very useful documents that will help our communities and future crowdfunders and investors get started. Stay tuned!
