Michigan Department of Education Again Recognizes Reward Schools at Madison School District
MADISON TWP., ADRIAN, MI – The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) released its accountability scorecards for 2013-14 and Madison School District earned 83% of the possible points. In addition, Madison Elementary School was named a Reward School for the third consecutive year, while the Middle School was given the honor for the fourth consecutive year. Each of these schools is identified as one of the 330 Reward schools of the 3,361 schools in Michigan for 2014-15. Reward Schools include the top five percent of schools on the annual Top-to-Bottom ranking of all Michigan schools, as well as the top five percent of schools making the greatest academic progress over the previous four years.
We continue to strive on a daily basis to provide the best educational experience for our families and students. Recognition from the Michigan Department of Education affirms the great work our teachers, students, parents, and administrators are doing to increase student achievement. However, our motivation continues to be making the difference in the life of a young man or young lady one student at a time.” ~ Ryan Rowe – Madison Superintendent
In its fourth year, the MDE accountability system is designed as a diagnostic tool that schools can use to identify strengths and weaknesses, providing a framework for the school improvement process. More information about the MDE scorecards can be found on the Michigan Department of Education’s website, www.michigan.gov/mde.
