Lenawee Now is seeking consultants to work within a grant provided by the Economic Development Administration. The project is to provide facilitation and guidance to a municipal group of stakeholders who are challenged by the impact of COVID-19. This economic downturn has created vacancies in their retail sector. Residents do not have access to essential services. Lenawee Now, the economic development group for Lenawee County, has been awarded funding to help businesses and communities recover from the COVID-19 crisis. The award also focuses on building resiliency for businesses and communities so they can thrive.
The consultant(s) will be responsible for:
- Working with local government leaders and stakeholders to create a strategy for growth.
- Developing a plan to create essential retail services within the municipality.
- Designing a process that is transparent to the community.
- Providing a collective impact mindset which includes consensus on major decision points.
- Utilizing past expertise in planning, facilitating, and advising roles during the process.
- Reaching metrics established in the planning and implementation phases of the process.

Project Background/Assumptions
- Proven track record of similar community development or group facilitation processes.
- References that provide Lenawee Now an opportunity to review the previous work of the consultant(s)
- Lenawee Now is experienced in these development processes and expects this contract to be one year in length to accomplish the goals within the RFP.
- Consultant(s) may be brought into the process with specific subject matter expertise in funding business start-ups, who will work with the process consultant we are seeking in this RFP.
