Adrian College to celebrate successful 1st decade of ice sports

AR-160809768 (1)On Oct. 19, 2007, Arrington Ice Arena was opened for business, and the Bulldogs’ men’s hockey team took care of business, beating Potsdam State 9-1. Ten years later, Adrian College is preparing to celebrate Arrington Ice Arena and what the building has brought to campus in its first decade. Bringing an ice arena was a vision created by Adrian president Jeffery Docking. Since Arrington Ice Arena has been built, Adrian College has seen an increase in enrollment, and athletic director Mike Duffy believes the arena has played a major role in the school’s growth. New dentist buys longtime Adrian practice

AR-160739890At first glance, dentistry might seem an unusual second career for an automotive engineer. For Mike Towler, the new owner of what is now Towler and Youngs Family Dentistry at 133 E. Maple Ave. in Adrian, there are actually a lot of similarities, especially given that his training in restorative dentistry. Towler officially took over the practice from Drs. Richard B. and Jacqueline Youngs — affectionately known to patients and staff alike as Dr. Mooch and Dr. Jackie — in mid-July. The Youngs will continue to be affiliated with the practice, albeit on a more limited basis than before. Via – They Daily Telegram

Rally’s new look helps grow fan base for Adrian restaurant

AR-160728826The Rally’s restaurant in Adrian has seen a resurgence in its popularity since last fall. Sales are up and it scored well in “Best of Lenawee” this year. This is due in large part to the new look at 1109 E. U.S. 223. Franchisee owners Phil and Sharon Servoss said they put $50,000 into the renovation of the restaurant’s exterior, updating the signage and putting in new landscaping.
