Lenawee Now held an awards banquet for the 2026 Externship and Internship Programs on August 11, 2026 at the Align Center for Workforce Development.
The externship program connects employers with local teachers and counselors who spend time as an extern to gain hands-on experience in the workforce. The participating educators gain an understanding of workplace policies and practices, and learn more about available career opportunities. This was the 6th year of the program with a total of 54 educators participating.
Thank you to these local organizations for hosting externs this summer: Align Center for Workforce Development, Anderson Development Company, Boys & Girls Club of Lenawee, Evonik-Silbond, Jebbee, River Raisin Watershed Council and W2Fuel LLC.
2026 externs were from the following school districts: Addison, Adrian, Blissfield, Clinton, Hudson, Onsted, Sand Creek and Tecumseh.
In addition to the Externship Program, Lenawee Now also facilitated an Internship Program this summer.
